About Cleveland Golf

Cleveland Golf was established in 1979 and named after its founder, Roger Cleveland. Initially, the company focused on producing replicas of classic clubs from the 1940s and 1950s, with the goal of creating clubs with beautiful shapes that surpassed even famous clubs.
In the 1980s, we developed the Tour Action series, which became the prototype for the teardrop-shaped wedges that are now mainstream. In particular, the Tour Action 588 wedge, released in 1988, has become a highly popular, long-selling product for over 20 years since its release.
In the 1990s, the company released the VAS series, which incorporated the latest technology. When Corey Pavin (USA) used one to win the 1995 U.S. Open, the brand quickly became famous around the world, but its cutting-edge appearance did not gain the support of many golfers.

The situation changed dramatically in 1997. Instead of the cutting-edge manufacturing approach of the time, the company reintroduced a design that emphasized the inherent beauty of the club. By fusing the latest technology with traditional shapes, the company's manufacturing philosophy became based on developing clubs that met the demands of competitive golfers while maintaining beautiful designs and head shapes that were easy to address. At the same time, the company began actively supporting top players around the world, including Vijay Singh (Fiji). The company established itself as a major golf brand, and in the eight years leading up to 2005, sales in the United States grew five-fold.

Wedges have also been developed under the philosophy of "maintaining the traditional beautiful shape while incorporating cutting-edge technology to achieve higher performance." The company thoroughly pursues the functions required of a wedge, such as a carefully calculated face progression, an exquisite balance of sole width and bounce, a compact head design with excellent operability, and material development that achieves a soft feel and spin performance. In addition, the company has been particular about finishes such as non-plated and gunmetal that prevent glare from sunlight and make it easier to imagine the trajectory, and has released a number of models based on the opinions of PGA professionals.

In 2007, the company joined the Dunlop Group, which handles multiple brands around the world, enabling it to develop even more outstanding advanced technologies. The center of gravity design, milling and sole shape are constantly evolving and improving, and every time a new model is released, it gains many fans. Cleveland Golf's wedges have also had a brilliant track record in the world of professional golf. In 2011, rookie Keegan Bradley (USA) won the U.S. PGA Championship. In 2019, Shane Lowry (Ireland) won his first British Open, and in 2021, Hideki Matsuyama won his long-awaited Masters, and major champions have been born one after another. Even in the women's world, Park Inbee (Korea), Hannah Green (Australia), and Minjee Lee (Australia) have won major championships, and their progress shows no sign of stopping.
