PXG 0311XP GEN6 Irons XTREME DARK Extreme Dark
|
The ideal combination of distance, maneuverability and ease of use. Mid-size head with moderate offset |
By making the face even thinner, off-center hits are less likely to result in a mishit and ball speed has also improved.
The PXG 0311 XP GEN6 irons are the most forgiving and longest flying irons ever made by PXG.
Industry-leading engineering, patented core materials, innovative head design and precision weight technology deliver an incredibly soft feel, ultimate distance performance and exceptional forgiveness.
Available in chrome and extreme dark finishes.
Blade length
Medium blade length for easy maneuverability
- Large offset makes it easier to keep the face square at impact
-Thick top rail
·High ball speed ·Ultimate forgiveness ·Reduced ball dispersion ·Confidence-inducing design ·Incredibly soft feel ·Exhilarating sound |
GEN6 Performance Technology
|
Partially thick ultra-thin face PXG irons have had the thinnest face in the golf industry since the first model, but with the GEN6, the face is even thinner. The ultra-thin, partially-thickened face is made of high-strength HT1770 maraging steel and is only 0.050 inches (about 1.27 mm) thick, 15% thinner than the previous model. Combined with PXG's proprietary XCOR2 technology, the GEN6 irons have the highest coefficient of restitution (COR) in PXG history. Not only has the distance and ease of use improved, but the feel and sound of the shot have also improved.
XCOR2 Technology The result of years of research and development, XCOR2 is PXG's revolutionary polymer core material. The extremely lightweight XCOR2 material reduces the weight of the core, allowing the weight to be placed lower and closer to the perimeter at the back of the head, dramatically improving the moment of inertia. The combination of PXG's partial thickness ultra-thin face technology and XCOR2 increases the coefficient of restitution, maximizes face deflection, and delivers high initial ball velocity.
Power Channel Technology Power Channel Technology is a unique U-shaped groove engineered into the inner face to increase face deflection and flex at the top. This groove creates face movement and energy transfer that can simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory and ball speed.
Five-time forging Each iron is crafted from 8620 soft carbon steel through a five-stage forging process that creates a tighter grain structure for increased strength, longer groove life and improved overall feel and appearance.
Back faces made by milling methodThe back faces of all irons are machined with high precision using the milling method, which makes the walls thinner than those achievable using the forging method alone, resulting in a body design that produces high performance and even more beautiful looks.

High Precision Weighting System: A large weight is placed at the rear of the club head near the center of gravity. This large center weight provides the optimal swing weight. What sets PXG apart from other manufacturers is that these weights are adjusted during the in-person fitting, allowing you to feel the effect. Weight adjustments after purchase are not supported.
