[Scheduled for release on August 23rd] PXG BLACK OPS Irons
|
Introducing the new Black Ops irons, the best performing irons in PXG's history!
Featuring an innovative dual cavity design, this iron has optimized weight distribution which dramatically improves the moment of inertia, providing greater forgiveness and stability no matter where you strike the ball on the face.
Created with PXG's patented technology, Black Ops irons are engineered with an industry-leading combination of ultra-thin face, Power Channel technology and XCOR2 technology.
These technologies work together to improve the feel and sound of the ball, while also delivering incredibly fast ball speeds and ideal high trajectories.
・Surprising ease of use ・Amazing distance ・Super high initial ball speed ・Ideal high trajectory Versatility that inspires confidence Unmatched consistency |

Dual Cavity DesignThe Dual Cavity Design dramatically increases the moment of inertia by reducing weight in the center of the clubhead and redistributing it around the outside of the club. Weight-saving inserts on the outside of the cavity also reduce weight in the center of the clubhead while positioning the center of gravity lower and closer to the rear for exceptional ease of use. The internal cavity is filled with a polymer material created by PXG's industry-leading XCOR2 technology.
This lightweight polymer material allows us to reduce the weight in the center of the club head, dramatically improving the moment of inertia and forgiveness, making it less likely that the ball will be mishit when hit heel-toe or above or below the sweet spot on the face.
Since the company's inception, PXG irons have been equipped with the
thinnest faces in golf. The thinnest faces are made of high-strength HT1770 maraging steel and are just 0.050 inches thick. Combined with PXG's proprietary XCOR2 technology, they improve distance, forgiveness, sound and feel.
XCOR2 Technology The result of years of research and development, XCOR2 is PXG's revolutionary polymer core material.
This material was first used in PXG's flagship 0311 GEN6 irons. The extremely lightweight XCOR2 material reduces the weight of the core, allowing the weight to be placed lower and closer to the perimeter at the back of the head, dramatically improving the moment of inertia. The combination of PXG's partially thickened ultra-thin face technology and XCOR2 increases the restitution coefficient, maximizes face deflection, and delivers high initial ball velocity.
Power Channel Technology Power Channel technology is a unique U-shaped groove on the inside of the face that allows for greater deflection of the club face, especially at the top of the face. This groove creates face movement and energy transfer that can simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory and ball speed.
