PXG 0311 Black Ops Driver
|
More flying distance. Even more gentleness. No compromises whatsoever. |
The PXG Black Ops driver represents groundbreaking, no-compromise golf club design.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology and new materials, golfers of all skill levels can hit the ball further and higher with unprecedented consistency.
- Head shape : Large head with a long design from face to back
・Face shape: Long heel-to-toe design
・Side shape: Thin when viewed from the side ・Crown has a gentle curve
-Sole shape: The protruding part in the center of the sole is small, and the weight is placed low and near the back (low crown design).
Points of interest
- Combination of high launch angle and low spin - Achieves incredible distance - Ultra-fast ball speed - Reduces ball landing point variance - You can hit consistent shots no matter where on the face. Explosive sound and feel

Technology that unlocks Black Ops performance
|
AMF Technology Black Ops uses Advanced Material Face (AMF) technology, which uses a proprietary titanium alloy face material that is stronger and more flexible, increasing face deflection at impact for significantly increased distance.
High-strength composite structure The lightweight inserts in the crown and sole are made from high-grade carbon fiber composite prepreg material, which is molded using an advanced compression process. The use of lightweight, high-strength parts allows for optimal weight distribution within the club head. This improves the moment of inertia and positions the center of gravity lower and further back, improving distance and forgiveness.
High-precision weighting technology The Black Ops driver comes with two replaceable light weights (2.5g) and one heavy weight (12.5g) in the sole, allowing you to adjust the spin and bias you want. Weights are available in 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20 grams, allowing you to fine-tune the overall head weight and shot bias for each individual player. By adjusting the weights, you can increase the total moment of inertia to over 10,000g-cm2.
Different bulge and roll design The lateral and vertical curvatures of the face are strategically adjusted to optimize driver performance. This design optimizes the club's response to off-center shots, improving forgiveness and overall performance. Robotic face grinding allows us to produce faces with different bulge and roll curvature radii with high consistency.
Optimized Natural Frequency: By fine-tuning the natural vibration patterns and resonances within the club head structure, we optimize the natural frequency to improve performance. This improves the feel, sound and performance of the driver at the moment of contact and impact with the golf ball.

If you don't hit it, it won't fly! Speaking of the shaft movement that is most frightening, reverse bending is the problem. If you design it to prevent reverse bending, you will maintain the normal forward bending until the moment of impact. The DI series is a shaft that perfectly embodies this idea!
The DI series does not go to the left even when you hit it. Few people, whether they have a fast or slow head speed, hit it at impact. The DI5 R1 would be perfect for veteran golfers who can no longer use the S club and have switched to the R club, but who are having trouble with hooking the ball and losing stability.
DI usually targets long hitters who can hit the ball nearly 250 to 300 yards. The specs that will please those who have difficulty controlling the clubs are the DI6 S, X and DI7 S, which are perfect for those who use DG irons. Especially for those who can swing over 320g with a #1 club, the DI 7 and 8 series use a highly elastic material made using nanotechnology at the tip, which reduces head vibration at impact and gives the same sticky feel as the DG.
However, if you throw the ball extremely inside-out to the right, you will not be able to grip the ball and will end up pushing it. Basically, it is not a shaft that will give you good grip, so it cannot be used unless you lower the flex by two levels and use a head that will give you good grip.
So it's safe to say that the DJ series was created for young, energetic amateurs who have a push to the right. It is best suited to a slightly out-in trajectory, but for those who want to hit hard from above, the DI is very easy to swing, allowing you to hit the ball right to the center and make a bold swing.
Also, advanced power players who can hit irons and fairways well and whose drivers tend to go left or right will surely like this DI series w/#1.
When inserting it into a FW, whether the w/#1 is a DI6 S or a DI7 S, the DI7 S will be sufficient. As I wrote earlier, the DI7, 8 series has a lot of tenacity in the tip, so it doesn't move around. As a result, it can be used as is without cutting, and there is no need to make it too heavy or stiff like other shafts.
