The world's lightest shaft, Air Speeder


Conventional lightweight shafts do not have the best balance of bending, twisting, and crushing strength. This time, we thoroughly optimized the shaft and designed it from scratch. The laminated structure of the hoop layer, bias layer, and straight layer, combined with the latest materials, has made it the world's lightest (weight 31.0g without coating).

The Air Speeder has a smooth distribution of stiffness from the grip to the tip, and the outer diameter at the grip end is narrower, so even golfers with a low head speed can feel the appropriate flex with less strain when switching directions.

1. Increased weight ratio of hoop layer, multiple layer lamination The hoop layer, which suppresses crushing, is essential for a lightweight shaft with a thin wall thickness. By increasing the weight ratio of the hoop layer compared to conventional shafts and by laminating two layers to the inner and outer layers of the shaft, we have achieved increased strength against crushing and bending.

2. Application of Nanoalloy R Technology to Straight Layers Toray Nanoalloy Technology is used in the straight layers, which affect bending strength. This has resulted in an approximately 5% increase in bending strength and durability.
