Shallow head for gentle play, but still holds the title of king of distance

GTD Black Ice 460 DRIVER

This is what I wanted! This is the encounter with a true ace driver. The level of perfection does not disappoint.

What we did to achieve the Blac Ice series concept of being "resistant to mistakes" with the driver.
This was the development of GTD's first full-size 460cc shallow head.
What we did to improve the distance of the GTD driver.
This achieves industry-leading shallow center of gravity and low spin for a club of this size.
Despite its shallow back, the semi-deep face has a wide core, and the 460cc full-size head is neither too small nor too big, making it easy to hit. Experience its performance that surpasses the Code-K in all aspects.

Moreover, the industry's best "shallow center of gravity" provides low spin performance,
The Code-K size head has been further improved with improved weight placement for greater stability.
In every respect, it surpasses previous GTD drivers.
The Angel-C driver is complete.

George Takei talks about the "development concept"

Over the past few years, we have been trying various things to improve Code-K...
The end result was a completely different model (Angel-C), which was very popular among long hitters due to its high performance.
…After all, I had a strong desire to evolve Code-K and debut it.

・GTD's first full-size 460cc shallow head

And now, we have finally completed the model that we are able to proudly announce: the Black Ice 460 Driver.
The development concept for this bike was "a full-size 460cc bike that is popular with the majority of golfers."
"A forgiving club that can be caught and controlled" and "a shallow back that is a GTD specialty that never sacrifices
"Stable low spin performance."

・Shallow back but semi-deep face with a wide core

This time, a total of seven prototypes were produced. The final seventh sampling had a total of four pieces,
We had many pros, including Kyoko Furuya, as well as top amateurs and average players try out the course.
The sound, feel, launch angle, and weight (196g) are all perfectly aligned.
All of the players gave high praise to the sound, trajectory, and feel of the club.
For a gentle attack, a comfortable sound, feel, and controllability.
And the carries, runs, and total "distance" all clearly and completely surpassed Code-K.

- 460cc full-size head that's not too small or too big

Although the center of gravity is shallow, the strength of the shallow back also plays a role in the cavity effect.
The sweet spot has also been significantly enlarged, making this a head that a wide range of golfers can confidently consider to be their ace driver.
In addition, due to the head shape, the sleeve attachment part is slightly higher,
If you use the shaft that was previously inserted into the head, it will be about 0.3 to 0.5 inches longer , so we recommend fitting a new shaft before using it.

Overall

GTD's first 460cc shallow back
But the industry's best low spin
The trajectory is slightly higher than Plus2 and AngeC.
Aim for a high draw with draw bias
It surpassed all the performance of Code-K.
A highly refined model that is easy to fly!

If you don't hit it, it won't fly! Speaking of the shaft movement that is most frightening, reverse bending is the problem.
If you design it to prevent reverse bending, you will maintain the normal forward bending until the moment of impact.
The DI series is a shaft that perfectly embodies this idea!

The DI series does not go to the left even when you hit it. Few people, whether they have a fast or slow head speed, hit it at impact.
The DI5 R1 would be perfect for veteran golfers who can no longer use the S club and have switched to the R club, but who are having trouble with hooking the ball and losing stability.

DI usually targets long hitters who can hit the ball nearly 250 to 300 yards.
The specs that will please those who have difficulty controlling the clubs are the DI6 S, X and DI7 S, which are perfect for those who use DG irons.
Especially for those who can swing over 320g with a #1 club, the DI 7 and 8 series use a highly elastic material made using nanotechnology at the tip, which reduces head vibration at impact and gives the same sticky feel as the DG.

However, if you throw the ball extremely inside-out to the right, you will not be able to grip the ball and will end up pushing it.
Basically, it is not a shaft that will give you good grip, so it cannot be used unless you lower the flex by two levels and use a head that will give you good grip.

So it's safe to say that the DJ series was created for young, energetic amateurs who have a push to the right.
It is best suited to a slightly out-in trajectory, but for those who want to hit hard from above, the DI is very easy to swing, allowing you to hit the ball right to the center and make a bold swing.

Also, advanced power players who can hit irons and fairways well and whose drivers tend to go left or right will surely like this DI series w/#1.

When inserting it into a FW, whether the w/#1 is a DI6 S or a DI7 S, the DI7 S will be sufficient. As I wrote earlier, the DI7, 8 series has a lot of tenacity in the tip, so it doesn't move around. As a result, it can be used as is without cutting, and there is no need to make it too heavy or stiff like other shafts.
