Rethinking conventional wisdom and creating new ones

Nowadays, drivers that boast high initial velocity and high MOI are the norm.
However, no matter how excellent the repulsion performance of a high MOI head is, if you cannot hit the ball in the direction you want, you cannot enjoy its ease of use. Many players swing too late or have an open face that does not return to its original position, resulting in frequent right pushes and push break to the right. This is why an easy-to-use, moderately high MOI head is becoming an "option."
The "Type R", which will be released this fall, is based on a "fitting head" that improves the performance of each amateur golfer while retaining the forgiveness of a high MOI head, and is equipped with a new technology called "Fire Lock Face".
By working together with the highly skilled fitters and craftsmen, we aim to bring about a revolution for amateur golfers who have not been satisfied with the technology and performance available until now.

The newly developed "Firelock Face" uses a unique Hyper Heat manufacturing process to revolutionize ball speed and feel beyond imagination.

Because there is a limit to the repulsion of the face, new technologies are constantly being developed. Similarly, Romaro has continued to develop new ideas and technologies within these limits.
The "Type R" being released this time adopts a new technology called "Firelock Manufacturing Method" that thins the face to the same level as the high repulsion model, raises it to a level outside the repulsion regulations, and then returns it to compliance. By applying high heat treatment after molding the face, the metal structure is homogenously refined, achieving efficient, high-quality deflection.
The unique AI-ONE, combined with the HEXAGON forged cup face that controls deflection at any impact point, expands the repulsion performance to the limit of the rules over a wide range. The face's deflection improves energy and maximizes the initial velocity of the ball. The amount of spin and launch angle on off-center hits are also kept appropriate, contributing to stable direction and distance.
The "good ball grip and soft feel" that was not available in drivers boasting high initial velocity until now has realized the sense of speed and control that catches the ball and pushes it forward. A golf head that conforms to the rules with the feel of a high-repulsion model will be your common sense from now on.

The unique AI-ONE technology controls the deflection for every impact point, resulting in a synergistic effect that expands the rebound performance to a wide range, right at the limit allowed by the rules.
The face flexes and returns to its original position, increasing energy and maximizing ball speed.
It also maintains the appropriate amount of spin and launch angle on off-center hits, contributing to stable direction and distance.


"Start Guide System" for smooth take-back start

In addition to the large head sitting comfortably, the "Start Guide System" creates a sense of stability in the head trajectory.
In golf, where the change from "still" to "moving" is said to be the most difficult, a stable start to the take-back has a positive effect on the top and down, and is effective for swing performance. Together with the fitting weight, we aimed for a "high quality ball impact" that would not be overpowered by the ball and would be able to hit it powerfully in the direction of the target.
In addition, the synergistic effect with the "Firelock Face" which produces maximum initial velocity aims to maximize golfers' distance.

The mid-face round shape is a traditional Type R design that makes it easy to address and concentrate on the ball. The extra weight from the ultra-thin body is properly distributed to the face and rear of the head, and by combining it with weights and sleeves , a "fitting head" has been created that can dramatically change the head performance .
The adjustment function is now more effective than ever, and by realizing the optimal center of gravity for each golfer, driving performance is further improved. In sympathy with the high level of skill of the fitter, it brings out the best in the golfer.

The culmination of composite technology!
High-quality materials create a sense of speed like no other
For the first time, we have used Toray Industries' cutting-edge carbon fiber "TORAYCA®" M40X, which has maximized strength and elasticity. In addition, we have used ultra-high elasticity "90t carbon", "Pyrofil®" MR70, which combines strength and flexibility, and "TORAYCA®" T110G throughout the entire length to maximize the sense of acceleration and impact. Furthermore, "RC15% prepreg" provides strong flex and rebound. These distinctive materials are flexibly bound together with "boron fiber" to create an ultra-high-speed shaft.
Development Concept

Now, we are making the best flying shaft using the materials available on earth! Fujikura has developed this shaft to achieve the strongest distance performance, surpassing the DIAMOND Speeder, which has an excellent balance of bounce and flex.
By combining it with the high-spec carbon "M40X," which exceeds the T1100G announced by Toray in December 2018, we have achieved amazing bounce and speed. Furthermore, after extensive evaluation, we have arrived at "boron fiber" as a material that maintains the bounce and speed while also being easy to swing.

Ultra-low resin carbon sheet "RC15% prepreg"

The carbon sheet is laminated (12 layers for S flex) with an ultra-low resin content of "RC15%" which is further reduced from RC20%. By reducing the amount of resin, the ratio of carbon fiber increases, resulting in a dense shaft. This eliminates unnecessary movement and achieves a stronger return to flex.
Toray's cutting-edge carbon fiber "TORAYCA R" M40X, which exceeds T1100G

Fujikura shafts are using "M40X", announced by Toray in December 2018, for the first time. This is the latest material developed for use in rockets and next-generation aircraft. By pursuing both fiber strength and elastic modulus, which are in a trade-off relationship, to the limit, strength has been improved by approximately 30% while maintaining the same elastic modulus as conventional carbon fibers. This creates an even better bounce and feeling.
Ultra-high elastic carbon fiber "90t carbon"

By layering the world's hardest material, 90t carbon, over the full length, we have achieved maximum acceleration and strength after impact to increase the initial velocity of the ball.
MR70 (Mitsubishi Chemical) + T1100G (Toray)
The tough Mitsubishi Chemical MR70 is laminated into the full-length straight layer, while the T1100G used in the SPEEDER series is laminated into the tip bias layer. The combination of these two materials achieves both toughness and flexibility.
Boron fiber: a metal fiber with high strength, high rigidity and high elasticity

Boron fiber, which is used in fighter jet tails and racing cars and has excellent strength, rigidity, and elasticity, flexibly combines the latest carbon materials with their distinctive characteristics. This creates a super-high-speed shaft that combines peak characteristics with repeatability and stability.
